the photograph

U sit posing with the one u love,
smiling at the camera,
grimacing in the sun.
N rt then the woman walks by
with a bag on her head;
It turns out to be a pic
of u n the bag instead.
It’s u alone
on a cold parapet stone,
n isn't that how it really is?

People who lead a lonely existence always have something on their minds that they are eager to talk about.

By that definition facebook is the single greatest arts and phiosophy forum!

but then it gets rid of the loneliness. there is, u c, a thin line between the profound and the inane. it is in solitude that one dwells upon what's on one's mind. or in loneliness. not that it's great, but it has it's uses. loneliness, not fb.

It is not only in solitude or loneliness that one can dwell upon what's on one's mind. 'Philosophers and artists', I'd prefer people ('cos it can be anyone), also acquire inspiration in the happy things around them, and also in anger. I guess emotions in general can make a person lift the pen, but yes, there are some that allow more profound thoughts than others. Maybe those that have a deeper impact.

quite true, divya. but i find myself conversin with myself much more when there's no one around to talk to. it's horrible, but as i said, has its uses. lets me twist ideas around until they start lookin pretty.

No that's not how it truly is!
You are but a fool, my friend.
Don't be so distraught in life.
It's not a limb in the war you've lost,
but one less reason not to grow up!
